INTERVIEW
Q: FinnyShow, hello! It’s a great honour for us to have you in an interview! Can you tell us a little about yourself: how did you discover Brawl Stars, how long have you been part of the game community, and how long have you been creating art related to it?
FinnyShow: I’m a Brazilian artist, I like to call myself FinnyShow, I’ve known about Brawl Stars since its launch, but it wasn’t until 2022 that I became interested in the game. After Sam’s victory, I created a profile where I rarely post my Brawl Stars-related art.
Q: In September 2024, you became one of the winners of Supercell Make - your Sam skin won 46.1% of the votes! Can you describe your initial emotions: was it unexpected, or were you already confident of victory?
FinnyShow: I was surprised because the three finalists had created excellent concepts, but I feel that I did something different for Sam, which made me quite confident.

Q: In the previous Supercell Make campaign, it was possible to create skins for six different brawlers! Why did you choose Sam? Did you create concepts for other brawlers as well?
FinnyShow: Sam is an interesting brawler due to his unique mittens mechanics, which piqued my interest, so I focused solely on him.
Q: How did you choose the colour palette for your skin? Did you have these colours from the start, or did you create different concepts with other colours?
FinnyShow: My initial idea was for Sam to be a villain, so his palettes were darker tones. After realising that he could attract more attention, I made radical changes and redesigned him.

Q: Was the previous Supercell Make the first one you participated in? If not, did you have any success in previous campaigns?
FinnyShow: No, but I participated in other Supercell Make campaigns, namely Colt, Belle, Mr. P, and Amber, but without much success.

Q: How long did it take you to create Sam’s skin? How much does the first draft differ from the final version?
FinnyShow: A few days were enough for my idea. A drastic difference from the beginning to the end was the new personality, which changed from villain to hero.

Q: Currently, there is a new Supercell Make campaign underway, where you can create skins for Griff, Kit, Allie, Doug, and Lily! Are you participating?
FinnyShow: Yes, but this time I’m going to focus on more than one brawler.

Q: In the previous campaign, where your skin won, the competition was really fierce! In your opinion, what helped you win?
FinnyShow: In my opinion, I think I created the most unique and cool mittens for Sam, turning them into mystical rings.
Q: What was the most difficult part of creating Sam’s skin? Why did you find that part difficult?
FinnyShow: The mittens. I wanted something that would stand out as much as the brawler himself.

Q: Do you keep in touch with other artists? Have you ever planned to collaborate on creating a joint skin?
FinnyShow: No, just a little interaction with the winner of the Buster skin - Vinnui
Q: How did it feel to see your skin on Brawl Talk and then in the game?
FinnyShow: As an artist, it was the best day of my life. Seeing my creation become part of a game that I’m such a big fan of made it an unforgettable moment. As for the game itself, I have no complaints. Supercell did a great job with the animations, especially the mittens throw, which made the skin even more fantastic.

Q: Besides Sam’s skin, do you have other works that are also worth mentioning?
FinnyShow: In 2025, I won the costume design contest for Honor of Kings, considered the most played MOBA in the world, where my creation will soon be released on the global server. I also won the global PUBG Mobile PDP sportswear design contest in the bronze category, two great achievements in my life as an artist.

Q: Did your victory in Supercell Make influence your life or career?
FinnyShow: I can say that my victory in the Supercell Make campaign further sparked my desire to create designs, not only for Supercell but for other games as well.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artists who want to showcase their work in the community?
FinnyShow: Be inspired by your favourite artists, trust in your abilities, never compare yourself to others, and work hard to achieve results.
Q: To conclude the interview: what are your future plans? Do you intend to migrate to other platforms and devote yourself even more to art?
FinnyShow: In the distant future, perhaps working on 2D animation projects.
